Continuing the series of Dufferin Trails videos we are highlighting the diversity of businesses in Dufferin County. Business owners in Dufferin County welcome your pets to visit their business with you! We look forward to getting to know you and your pet on your next visit. The project aims to attract more locals and visitors to discover our niche markets so that they can spend more time and money in the region, growing community pride and increasing the visitor economy.
Great photography and video starts at eye level – no matter who your subject is! We hung a camera off an inverted gimbal to make this sequence. Getting the camera at the right height is something we always consider carefully for maximum engagement. Notice how the Canon 1DX Mk III still maintains detail in the bright sky compared to dark subjects in the foreground.
Our team enjoyed making this film for the DBOT The Dufferin Board of Trade. You can learn more about the work we do in the Tourism and Economic Development sectors here.

I work in Dufferin County, and the best part of my job is that it’s pet friendly and I’m able to bring my dog, Rocky to the office every day. And we have our own little area there. I’ve always had a love for animals. So even when I was younger, I adopted animals. We really encourage our customers to bring their pets to 10 & 10 Garden Center. We offer a pet discount. At the Mansfield Outdoor Center, we believe in offering exceptional experiences to everybody who wants to enjoy the great outdoors. We want to help people experience their environment. Since this new greenhouse has opened and we are open year round now. We do a huge selection of indoor plants and seasonal plants. We have everything that you would need to landscape your house outside and to do your interior decorating as well. What I love about Dufferin County is that when I want to go on a walk or hike with my dog, there’s so many trails here. At Mansfield Outdoor Center. We’re a four season outdoor center. We have an extensive trail network where we can mountain bike, hike, cross-country ski and snowshoe. Our trail network is connected to the Dufferin County Forest and we have up to 30km of trails here on our property. We try to be an eco-friendly garden center. We started off with two cats in our greenhouses, so we didn’t have to use mousetraps or any sort of poisons. They’re a big part of our garden center and we also have a rescue rooster. There’s so many local businesses here where I’m able to bring my dog. I came here to 10 & 10 today because I saw it was a pet friendly business. The owner was very nice and welcoming and gave Rocky lots of love and scratches and treats. We offer discounts in exchange for a donation of any amount. We’ve taken that money and we’ve donated to almost all of our local animal sanctuaries. Our cabins are pet friendly. So if anybody wants to stay overnight, they’re welcome to have their pet join them. People feel very comfortable bringing their pets here. It’s very friendly. We provide as many amenities as possible. Rocky to me is more than just a dog. He’s like my baby. Having that companion and knowing that I have someone 24/7 to rely on is really important to me. And when I come to businesses and they treat Rocky more than just some animal that’s beside me walking with me, it means a lot. Everything we do, we encourage animals to be part of it. People love our pet friendly approach. Being pet friendly has benefited our business. We have customers that come here every week. They would bring their animals constantly. People just love it.
